Miłosz Ruszkowski

Milosz Ruszkowski is a Group Leader at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, in Poznań, Poland. He previously held a postdoctoral position at the National Cancer Institute (USA), based at Argonne National Laboratory. Trained as a structural biologist, biochemist, and chemist, his research focuses on enzymes relevant to the development of anticancer drugs and herbicides. His recent work investigates human mitochondrial enzymes involved in proline and serine biosynthesis that are essential for the enhanced proliferation of cancer cells. He employs X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy to uncover molecular mechanisms, complemented by a range of biophysical and bioinformatic approaches. He is the author of 52 scientific publications and over 130 depositions in the Protein Data Bank. H-index = 18.
