University of Agriculture in Krakow

Marcin Rapacz is the leader of a research team focusing on photosynthetic functions, chlorophyll fluorescence, and plant responses to abiotic stresses such as low temperatures and drought. His research interests also include the application of transcriptomic methods to assess the physiological status of plants and identify genes responsible for adaptation to climate change. Prof. Rapacz focuses in particular on the processes of cold acclimation, deacclimation, and reacclimation, as well as on the development of breeding tools aimed at improving plant resistance to environmental stress, including molecular selection and gene editing methods.

For several years, he has been ranked among the most influential scientists (Top 2% according to Elsevier).
