Marcin Piechota

Dr. Marcin Piechota is Co-Founder, CTO, and Board Member at Intelliseq, where he leads the development of advanced bioinformatics technologies and AI-driven genomic analysis platforms supporting precision medicine. He specializes in computational genomics, pharmacogenetics, and the implementation of scalable algorithms for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis.

He earned his PhD at the Maj Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences, where he conducted transcriptomics and ChIP-seq research focused on molecular responses to psychotropic drugs in mouse models. His scientific work contributed to publications in leading journals, including Nature and Genome Biology.

At Intelliseq, Marcin drives the development of automated and clinically oriented genomic workflows that transform raw sequencing data into actionable insights for diagnostic laboratories, biopharma companies, and research institutions worldwide. Under his technical leadership, the company has developed cloud-based solutions enabling scalable, reproducible, and user-friendly genomic analysis without the need for extensive in-house bioinformatics expertise.

His expertise spans bioinformatics, computational genomics, pharmacogenomics, and high-performance data processing, with strong technical proficiency in WDL, Python, R, Bash, and Kubernetes. He currently continues his scientific work in large-scale pharmacogenomic studies involving hundreds of thousands of genomes, bridging academic research with real-world clinical applications.
