Katarzyna Rojek

Katarzyna Rojek is a postdoctoral fellow at Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences and co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Living Networks, a Warsaw-based biotech startup developing novel 3D methods for preclinical drug testing. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS and brings to the company extensive experience in cell and tissue biology. Leveraging microfluidics, tissue engineering, and advanced microscopy techniques, her work aims at pioneering new methods of microvascular tissue engineering enabling the production of human microtissues of high level of miniaturization, reproducibility and physiological relevance for applications in drug testing and personalized cancer modeling. She gained experience at the Utrecht University, Flanders Institute for Biotechnology VIB, KU Leuven and National Institute of Molecular Genetics in Milan.
