Joanna Gleńska-Olender, PhD, is a biologist and expert in biobanking quality management with over 13 years of experience in biobanking and the development and implementation of quality standards in research institutions and healthcare. She serves as Quality Management System Coordinator at the Biobank of Wroclaw Medical University and as Project Manager at the European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking (ESBB). She is the Polish expert in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), serving on ISO/TC 276 Biotechnology, where she actively contributes to the development of international standards for biobanking. She is a co-author of the Quality Standards for Polish Biobanks, the Manual of Biobank Quality Management (Springer Nature), and the Quality Handbook for Biobanks (Zenodo). She completed the prestigious Polish Clinical Scholars Research Training programme at Harvard Medical School, expanding her expertise in clinical research, evidence-based medicine, and regulatory requirements for biomedical research.
