Full Professor at Sorbonne Paris Nord University (USPN) and member of the Institut Universitaire de France (Innovation Chair), internationally recognized for contributions to biomedical innovation and translational regenerative medicine. Co-leader of the research axis “Repair–Regeneration–Replacement of Pulmonary Tissues” and Head of the Master’s program Therapies and Technologies for Life Sciences, axis “Experimental Therapies and Applications in Human Pathologies”. Delegate for Biomedical Sciences and Innovation at USPN, Chair of the Experts Committee in Biology and Biochemistry, and scientific expert for the Fondation de l’Avenir Cardiovascular Program.

Research focuses on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, particularly extracellular matrix and glycocalyx remodeling in cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, ischemia, and intimal hyperplasia. Recent work includes heart valve regeneration and tracheal reconstruction using polysaccharide-modified aortic allografts. Extensive international collaborations span Japan, Germany, Poland, and partnerships with biotech companies including OTR3, ABCellBio, and LatisMedical.

Awards include multiple Fondation de l’Avenir prizes (2004–2025), First Prize from the French National Basketball League (2024), several national distinctions for research and doctoral supervision (PEDR, 2015–2027), and an invitation by President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace to the roundtable on “The Future of Research in France” (2023).
