Dorota Krekora-Zając

Dr. Dorota Krekora-Zając is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Comparative Civil Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, Poland as well as a partner and attorney-at-law at the Zając i Wspólnicy law firm. Her research and professional work focus on civil law, the secondary use of data for biomedical research and biobanking, and the legal and regulatory frameworks governing biobanking.
She collaborates with national and European biobanking infrastructures, including BBMRI.pl, the Polish Biobanking Network, and BBMRI-ERIC. As the lead legal expert within BBMRI.pl, she developed the national Code of Conduct for the processing of personal data by biobanks in Poland. She is a member of the ELSI, ELSI Helpdesk, and Code of Conduct teams of BBMRI-ERIC, participates in the ELSI group of ESBB, and contributes to the FACILITATE project on the rights of clinical trial participants. She is also the organizer of the annual Polish conference on the European Health Data Space.
She teaches courses on the legal framework of clinical and biomedical research, medical law, civil law, and family and inheritance law at the University of Warsaw (Faculty of Law and Administration and Medical Faculty) and at the Academy of Medical and Social Applied Sciences.
