Aleksandra Rutkowska, PhD is a principal investigator at the Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland, where she leads research on neuroimmunology, neurodegeneration and central nervous system repair. Her work focuses on oxysterol signalling, immune cell migration and novel therapeutic strategies for multiple sclerosis and related neurological disorders. She is the recipient of the L'Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Award, and her discoveries have led to a licensing agreement for the development of a novel therapeutic approach for multiple sclerosis. At EUROBIOTECH 2026, she will present her latest findings on the therapeutic potential of targeting the EBI2/oxysterol pathway to promote remyelination and CNS repair.
