Ewa Łojkowska, Professor dr hab.

Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology University of Gdańsk & Medical University of Gdańsk

Prof. Ewa Łojkowska authored about 200  articles published in peer-reviewed journals, was a principal investigator in 12 international and 27 national grants and supervised 22 completed PhD theses.

Since 1994 she leads the Department of Plant Protection and Biotechnology at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology University of Gdansk & Medical University of Gdańsk, since 2001 as a full professor. She was a Dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG (2005-2012) and vice-Dean between 1996 and 2002. Currently she is a Chairwoman of the Committee of Biotechnology PAS.

Prof. Łojkowska was involved in science-social relations at regional and international level holding the positions of: President of Polish Academy of Sciences Committee of Biotechnology (from 2020-2023, 2024-2028), President of  Polish Jury for the Program L’Oreal UNESCO for Women in Science from 2005; Member of the International Selection Committee for the L’Oreal UNESCO for Women in Science – International rising Talents from 2014; President of the Professor Wacław Szybalski Foundation from 2008, and Chairwoman of the University of Gdansk Commission for Responsible Sciences (from 2019).
