Jan Konvalinka

Jan Konvalinka is the director of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic, head of the research department at the institute and professor of biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the Charles University in Prague. In his research, he focuses on medicinally relevant enzymes, specifically viral proteases and polymerases, and development of novel ways of their inhibition, visualisation and targeting. He is an author of more than 150 research papers in international journals and numerous patents (H-index 42).
