Michal Szymanik, PhD

Michał Szymanik is a graduate of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw, where he defended his doctoral dissertation in microbiology in 2006. His research at that time focused on analyzing bacterial mobile genetic elements.
In 2006, he joined Adamed Company. Over the next nine years, he worked as a scientist in the Research Department, contributing to the invention of new molecules with therapeutic potential, the development of bacterial expression systems, and the production of biological molecules for Adamed’s innovative biotechnological projects.
In 2015, he was appointed Head of the Research Department, where he managed the biological laboratory and led research and development efforts across various innovative projects involving original molecules (recombinant proteins, bioconjugates, peptides), primarily in the fields of oncology, diabetology, and infectious diseases.
At the end of 2023, Michał Szymanik assumed the role of Business-Science Collaboration Manager at Adamed Pharma. In this position, he is responsible for fostering collaboration between the Drug Discovery and Early Development Department and academic institutions, as well as promoting the Department’s achievements in projects focused on original molecules.
Dr. Szymanik is a co-author of scientific articles and patents. He serves as a member of the Employers' Council of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG&MUG, the Scientific-Business Council of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology at the Jagiellonian University, and the Committee for Teaching and Education Quality in the Drug Discovery and Development Program at the Jagiellonian University Medical College.
